How common are Darn Tough socks in the hunting circles? I learned about them from through hikers who hike thousands of miles a year. They are made in Vermont and have a lifetime warranty. They sell hunting socks and hiking socks. If you are hunting the mountains I would choose the hikers. The hunting socks are designed for sitting still for prolonged periods of time.
