Slick Tricks or Shuttle T's or go for an Ulmer Edge?

Magnus

Dont overlook the Magnus stinger buzzcut! They shoot just like field points at 60-65 yards and cut like nothing else. Very big wound channel and pass through.

I've used Magnus broad heads for years. I keep a couple set aside for target shooting, and keep my hunting blades separate too. I've always had a issue where my Magnus would shoot 6 inches or so off from my field points. Bow is tuned fine, just always had an issue with them. I was chatting with a guy at Cabelas the other day about what to use for Elk, and he got me convinced to order the Shuttle Ts. Said the Magnus has an aluminum center, and when you shoot them it bends slightly. This would explain why my practice tips fly so crummy. May also explain why the last two deer I've shot at have been hit, but not recovered. Since my hunting blades are never fired, they probably aren't bent like the practice blades, which makes them fly differently.

Long story short, shot Magnus for years, I've now switched to Shuttle Ts. When my beast is on the ground I'll let you know how they worked.

Been using Slick Trick Magnum 100 heads last couple years with great success. One bear and two elk with them so far. They fly same as my field points. Pass through on all three animals. Just awesome heads !

The Ulmer Edges have worked well for me over the past year. So far a grizzly, black bear, blacktail and whitetail. They fly just like fieldpoints (and as mentioned you can shoot them with the set screw in test each arrow prior to hunting). They penetrate just fine out of my 62 to 64# bows with 375 gr 55-75 Goldtip hunters at about 280 fps. They are going stone sheep hunting next week.

Mechanicals on a Grizz……..Really!!!!!
I might do that too if I had to dispatch one inside one of those culvert traps and there were no .300 (or larger) rounds left in North America

I have heard lots of good things about the QAD exodus heads as well. I am also in the market this year. I have been shooting rage and muzzy mx3s and really am not overly happy with either. I have had two bad experiences with rage heads and have written them off for big game. They are now my turkey broadhead. I have been looking at the slick trick heads as well. Are all the slick tricks going to fly the same? I don't see much difference between the different heads.

I have the slick trick standards for elk and grizz tricks for deer. The standards fly great if your bow is tuned right. The grizz tricks do as well, but with the bigger cutting diameter I see more drop from drag at distances further than 60 yards. I shot my whitetail with grizz tricks this year and was really impressed.
