In case you haven't figured it out, I am a gear nut. I am probably going to buy these pants soon. What should I know about them?

I really like mine. Of course the kneepads are removable which is nice if you don't want to use them. The stretchy material is great as when you move or are sitting there is no binding. I like the way the waist band is made it has a silicone rubber strip on the inside of the pants to keep your shirt from coming un-tucked. Great for packing. I am a suspender fan as well and the suspender loops are made into the pants for the suspenders. The material on the backside and knees has held up extremely well, much better than I thought it would.I also like the extra material down near the boots on the inside of the pants which keeps the boots from wearing out the pants down near the boots. The only drawback is that if you hunt where there are briers they will pick. I went through some briars and had some pics but I just took a lighter and singed off the little pics. These are my favorite pants they wear very well.
The general consensus has been that just about everyone really likes them. The only thing I have heard is that the waterproof knees and seat can be a little noisy in the cold. Have you noticed that they are noisy?

I wear mine for early season bow hunting to late season cat hunting. They are awesome pants

I just recently got my pair but my only complaint about the timberline and the mountain pants is the built in belt. The belt doesn't do a very good job at keeping up your pants with a heavy load, and I am to tall for the suspenders. That's why I will be switching to the 90 percent pants this summer.
Got em, love em. Like mentioned above they are good from early to late season depending how you layer.. which is key with Sitka gear. I've worn mine guiding in the midwest in -20ish temps with the merino and traverse bottoms under and I was alright. I wasn't cooking by any means but I wasn't cold. Comfortable, stretchy material with a kick ass fit. You'll just have to try them... different for everyone I suppose.

Did you use these and how did they work? I have the lightweight ascent pants, really great for a hike- looking for a little heavier.
Used the tar out of mine for 3 seasons now. I love them and really like the waterproof knees and seat.

I love my timberline pants as well. The knee padding is a nice feature.

I would agree with this. I have had mine for 3 years and sometimes do not bother using them because of the belt. I like to carry a side arm and knife on a belt and this doesn't allow me to do that. If they fixed this one aspect they would be my go too pants all year around. I am also switching to the new ascent or mountain pants.

I have two pairs and love them. I don't think I'll ever wear a different pant for hunting again. I like how flexible and stretchy they are. The water proof seat and knees are perfect. I have a solid gray and tan pair.

How old are all of your guys Timberline & mountain pants? I have a pair that is 5-6 years old and are the nice stretchy material you are all describing and I love them, but I was looking at the current mountain or timberline(cant remember which one) pant in the store not to long ago and seems like they are not as stretchy anymore.
