Just got back from a really fun Sitka Blacktail hunt on Kodiak Island. Saw a lot of nice bucks and took a real fine buck. I only wanted one, since we have lots of moose in the freezer. The limit is 3.
This was a great hunt, lots of wildlife around including silver fox, all kinds of sea ducks, whales, sea lions...too many bears, and great guys to hunt with. My best hunt of the year!

Yeah, thanks. I've taken a bunch of these guys and this is my best. He green scored 106 3/8. B&C minimum is 108. He has some deductions though. I'm real happy with him.
I wish I had pulled his cape but I had a sow and 3 cubs nearby and had to hurry!!

Yeah, it's over the counter and on Kodiak the limit is 3. It takes some planning but is very doable. It's total fun, IF, the weather cooperates. The bucks aren't huge, a .243 would be just fine. I used a 375h&h because the bears are!

This is a bucket list hunt for me, hopefully one day I can make it up there. I have 2 first cousins in the Mat-Su valley. Both have done this hunt and loved it.
