I've been toying with the idea of getting 15x binos but they're too shaky apart from a tripod so I'd have to carry two binos, one of which would be pretty heavy and so I thought I'd just stick with my Dialyt spotter.
So when I read Dan Turvey's E-News review earlier this week on the new SIG Oscar 3 mini-spotter, I was intrigued.
It's an image-stabilized 10-20x30 spotter that's only 6.7" long and weighs 16 oz! With the IS, there is no tripod needed. That would save some weight. Vortex-type warranty. List price is $599 but in a quick look around, I've seen it for less.
Just not sure how long I can comfortably glass with one eye and at 15-20x the low-light capabilities will be less.
Man, just think how great it would be if they could turn that into a pair of 10 or 20x IS binos for double or triple that price. That would completely blow up the market. There are IS binos out there but they are heavy and at least $2000.
