Shipping gear ahead when travelling by plane

In the interest of making the most of my Vacation and Scouting time, I'm considering Flying to ABQ and renting a car to go scout my Elk unit in Northern New Mexico . Wanted camp to be a little nicer than backpack fare, and I was trying to figure out how to get a 2 burner Campstove there. The ABQ REI doesn't rent gear, so I can't rent one for the 3 days.

FYI an extra bag is $75 on Southwest.

My Backpacking cooking setup is a Jetboil. I'd have to pick up fuel while there anyway.

So my question is, If I shipped my stove/lantern/ hoses/ cooler ahead, where would I ship it to? A Fed Ex/ Kinko's Office?

Or how do I make the most out of my more portable camp gear options for car camping?

You are going to have to talk to the shipping companies and find out what they can do for you. Other than that give a shout out to someone in the Albuquerque area that you can ship things to.

If it was last month I could give you the address of a cousin of mine, but he moved to Florida.

I try to fly SWA when I fly out to hunt because besides your carry-on, you can take two checked bags free. Plus, if you fly back early because you got your game early they don't hit you with a $200 changed flight fee like the other airlines. Even if I pay a little more on SWA, it's worth it for the savings on checked bag fees and change fees.

I've always been able to fit my camping stuff/backpacking stuff into my carry-on plus a checked bag and that includes a tripod and spotting scope. I buy my Mountain House meals after I land.

But, if you want to rent camping gear you can rent all kinds of camping stuff (backpacks, tents, stoves, radios, etc.) from Lower Gear in Tempe, AZ and they will ship it to and from whatever point you designate using UPS. See https://www.lowergear.com/product.php?id=158

Their Coleman 2-burner stove rents for $21 for a week but you can specify other lengths of time.
