Hi Everyone,
I have been a lurker here for the past year or so, but decided it was time to make the jump and join.
A little about me - - I live in Sheridan, WY with my wife and two dogs. I am a teacher and during the summer I travel up to Alaska to work as a fishing guide. I am an avid outdoorsman and grew up in Ohio chasing whitetails with my bow and harassing many flocks of ducks and geese migrating down through the Lake Erie flyway. After college my wife and I moved to Soldotna, Alaska. We both worked as teachers (her elementary and me high school) and spent every free minute away from work fishing, hunting and hiking. It was paradise for a 23 year old with very few commitments. As we matured the Alaskan winters and the distance from family started to take their tole. Long story short, we decided to move a little closer to home but still wanted to be near the mountains. After months of research and a few visits, we determined Sheridan was the perfect place for us. We have been here for two years and could not be happier! I was able to fill my antelope and mule deer tags last year with Pope and Young animals, but struck on an elk. I still have so much to learn, but am enjoying every minute of it! Thank you to everyone on here for all of your insight and I look forward to being part of the community!
Matt
