I'm from Laramie and have spent a lot of time fishing in the Snowies, but I've never hunted there. I've hiked the length of Sheep Mountain and think it would be a really fun (but really tough) hunt, but I've never seen elk or deer on public land there, not even sign. Has anyone had recent hunting success or seen many deer or elk on Sheep Mountain. I want to hunt up there, but I want to know I have a realistic shot at harvesting an animal with enough work. I don't mind never seeing an elk if I know they're up there in good numbers, but my fear is that I'll put in the miles where elk or deer numbers are too low to have a decent chance of finding one.
