Went out here in N California the last time I saw the sun. Didn't find any sheds. I spent more time chasing my two year old daughter than I did looking.Oh well. It got us out of the house.

Saw about 12 bull elk today that were still sportin' head gear. Been seeing a lot of mule deer bucks with one or both still on, and a lot that have already dropped. Come on May 1st, I might have to go wander around east of the divide one of these days to see if I can find anything. I noticed the G&F put up signs all over last week letting shed hunters know about the new law.

In my neck of the woods elk are still packin, their usually on the ground by now. They could drop anytime. Problem is I'm not the only one watching them, It's going to be a race!

Went out for a good hike today. After lots of elevation gained, ran into about 200+ head of elk, and found that the bulls are still packing. No elk sheds but I did find a deadhead muley that made the day even better.

Elk scattered all over..

Deadhead..

Anyone know why the G&F only limits shed collecting in WY west of the Cont Divide? Doesn't really make sense to me.
I don't understand why they would limit it to only the one side of the divide. But in my opinion I think that it should be may first for the entire state as well as all states. Here in Idaho we have a few spots that are like that but I think that the entire state should be, in these areas that don't have the restriction people have been all over pushing and scaring the game and believe me, they don't need the added pressure.

Found some nice mule deer and whiletail sheds while I was turkey hunting. A friend of mine I know in the area has over 200 sheds this spring.
