The family and I are planning to visit Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park this fall and make a few other stops.

Any other recommendations of places to see, things to do, erc?

Thanks.

Did that trip along with Yellowstone, Cody, and Buffalo. Should at least go over to Buffalo and check out the Occidental Hotel. We also did Custer's Battlefield in MT. The rodeo in Cody is a must do if you have time to stretch it out and head over there. Kids will love it! Obviously we did the prairie dog towns on way through Badlands. There is also a animal park/drive thru zoo with bears and other stuff that small kids enjoy. Was hoping to be able to do that trip again this summer but probably wont happen. Have fun. My kids ask all the time when are we going back.

Vore Buffalo jump by Sundance is pretty neat and only takes an hour or two.
Horse back rides in the hills are always fun too.

When this fall are you planning on coming to SD? For nr we have otc archery tags for antelope that open up in August. Custer State Park is a great place to visit, you can hike around Harney Peak, fish at any of the lakes in the park, there are plenty of trails to hike or ride atv's in the black hills also.

Bighorn mountains are relatively close if you want to actually get into some high country. Take the scenic route through them if you venture over to Cody.

Stop by Ellsworth Air Force Base and watch the B1's take off, its pretty awesome. I think its one of the most beautiful planes ever built.

The Air Force museum is pretty cool as well there is also a gas station with some amazing taxidermy, I think it's on the same exit as cabelas but opposite side of I90. Lots of African game.

Wind Cave is really nice. Great path and steps so its easy for the little ones. We took our five last summer and they really enjoyed it.

The badlands are awesome, wall drug is a fun spot for some souvenirs, Deadwood is neat, Crazy Horse is good to imagine being finished someday (maybe in your daughter's lifetime), and if you go by a restaurant called "The Sugar Shack" stop and have a burger! Man I love the Black Hills, one of my favorite places on Earth! Can't wait to take my boys!
