Also, rain can be rare down there during November but if it does rain go immediately and look for tracks and see where they are moving down the fence lines.

You only have 2 weeks for mule deer right? In my experience (because I have hunted around Childress and now hunt near Benjamin) is that patterning them is near impossible because they will move ranch to ranch especially in those Caprock flats. Just spend your time scouting from the truck or at the week leading up to season.
Then you will see more of what has moved in on the property.
Good luck this year, great genetics in the herd there!

Yeah we have two weeks. The general season opens on Nov. 21st and closes on Dec. 6th.
There is a one month long bow season from Oct. 3rd - Nov. 6th

Man that is awesome that you hunt in the area. Childress is very close to CeeVee. How long have you been hunting in the Childress area? Since you mentioned great genetics in the area, what should I expect in regard to deer quality, buck to doe ratio? What characteristics should I be looking for in a mature buck?

When is the rut for that area and what kind of activity should I be seeing if I go the last week of bow season(first week of Nov.)?

Do you put up cameras before the season?

The rut for whitetails is thanksgiving week. The mule deer rut seems to be unpredictable every year but it's usually not during season.

Decent chance they are the Desert sub species. Rut was late Dec into Jan where I hunted them SW of your hunt in NM. But bet your biologist contact can tell you.
