Headed out Sunday into some new country to look for mule deer and do some fly fishing for cutthroat trout. Hiking book I have shows some really good highcountry mule deer habitat along with decent fishing so it really can't go wrong. It's only a 4km (2.6 miles) hike into the lake and it looks like I'll be able to set up camp well before that so it might be an easy one. Apparently not a lot of people hike in there after the end of August so like many of the hiking trails I may be on my own. Not a lot of people backpack in for mule deer here. Just the way I like it. I'll post some pictures Sunday night if all goes well.
