Leaving in the morning to scout a new unit or 2 not all that far from my homeplace. The units I am looking at take around 10 to 12 points to draw and I have 15, so if I like what I see, I'll be hunting near home and burning my points.I'll be staying a couple of days, so I should have plenty of time.

C.C.; Don't you think you should build another 25 years of points so that you can hunt a "premium" unit when you are 100?
Maybe so...maybe so!

Just got back and it went fairly well. The weather sucked. Spent most of Tuesday driving and glassing the country I want to hunt. Saw several 100 goats with 2 really trophy bucks. The wind started blowing about 10:00 am which really made it hard to find them. They were all down in low areas out of the wind. Spotting scope really was a waste. I walked over ridge tops and found lots of them bedded down or feeding. I was up to 10,000' and lots of them feeding at the edge of the snow line, which is melting fast. Looks like I'm in for this one and will spend my 14 points, took 12 last year.

Today it was like an arctic blizzard going over Wolf Creek pass! 17 degrees , wind and snow.

I did take a trailer, our 28" travel trailer, not my cargo conversion. Me and my Lab spent a couple of days together, stayed in a rv park. I have started to do a little with the 9N, but it's been pretty cold and I have had a lot to do to get ready for our frst run of irrigation water in a week. I am going over to out local farm eq place and buy a battery. I also am going to pull the cowl and radiator, so I cab backflush it. I'll post some pictures soon.
