Recently picked up a HB .300 win mag, already have a light weight hunting rifle, kind of want this .300 to dual hat as a longer range hunting rig and a long range gong ringer. Looking for long range scope recommendations budget is around ~1k. Would a Leupold 4.5-14x50 30mm w/CDS be a good option? Or does someone recommend something else?

I have 3 of them and love them. They are on my 25-06, 30-06 & 300 Wby. I also have Leupold ballistic turrets for each one of them. I have 11 Leupold scopes......IMHO the best for the money and they stand behind their products.

I second that! I have 2, 1 on a 257 wby and 1 on a 300 wby. I have a VX-5hd 3-15x44 on my 6.5-300 wby and its even a tad sharper than the 3i’s. Pushes closer to that $1000 mark though.

I looked thru/shot a gun w a Night Force on it this weekend. Real nice scope - good dialing.

I had 3 of the Leupold VX-6 scopes that had issues with repeated dialing. I sent them to Leupold and sold them when they returned. I do like Leupold scopes when not using them as dialing scopes. I have several with the Duplex, Varmint Hunter, or B&C reticle that work fine at normal ranges. I like the Huskemaw scopes for dialing. I have 3 and have had good luck with them holding zero and reliably going up and down dialing elevation. I like the covered turrets on them also compared to other similar brands.
