I have a couple of savage weather warriors that I need to get rings and bases for. One is a 7 mag and the other is a 7-08.

I'm having trouble figuring out bases mostly. I have a Zeiss Conquest for the 7 mag and a Leupold vx6 for the 7-08.

No one local sells much for bases and rings so any help is appreciated. Thanks

Weather warrior is a 116/16

If I remember right the weather warrior is a Savage model 16.

I personally like Leupold bases and rings. You can go to their web site and punch in your rifle and scopes information and they will give you the mounting system to use. Then just do a product search for what they tell you on any of the catalog stores or even take the info down to your local gun shop and have them order the parts.

For the 7mag it's very likely that you'll need an extended front base. Savage actions are very long between the front and rear bridges. If you don't get an extended front you may run out of room at the front bell of the scope with the rear ring up against the magnification ring.

I prefer the Burris XTB bases. Fairly cheap, , multi-slot, and well built out of steel. About $20

Another option is the one piece base. EGW and Weaver Tactical are both made in the US and are a good value on a Savage.
