Looking for people's opinions on these areas. I've hunted the Zirkel's for some time, but it's become overrun with flatlanders who walk all day long over the past few years. Not to mention the herd reduction of nearly 50% in that span. Don't get me wrong, I've been successful, I know where the elk always are, it's just not the hunt I enjoy anymore due to this fact. I want the physical challenge of these mountains and something new! Thanks in adavance

Big mountains usually equals big animals. I spend a fair amount of time in 82/86. Deer we do see are shooters. Bulls are solid and healthy with the highest bull to cow ratio in the state. Gotta hunt the Sangres a whole different way due to the big mountains. Doable and very rewardable.
