After using these for my first season, I am totaly set on these. If you just drop your binos to your chest and pick them up to use again then probably ought to stay with the crooked horn because the binos and the case are alot on your chest. If you can get use to pulling them down and tucking them under the cover, even if you dont hook the bottom, then they stay put and feel comfortable. If you wind up bent over or on your knees for a stalk, then they are perfect for this. They provide just the right amount of protection for my Leicas.2012 muledeer.jpg

I had the old design of the S4. I had the very same problem you had. Since they came up with a new design, I contacted them and was able to exchanged the old for the new. I simpy paid $10. The new design is night and day from the old. I hope they can do this for you. Good Luck!

After reading your post, I contacted S4Gear via email and they exchanged my old style L harness for the new Lockdown X style free of charge. The new style feels like it will hug the body better and not ride up the back with a pack on, but I have yet to try these out in the field. Thanks for the post iamup!

Has any one had a problem with the plastic buckles breaking. Maybe this was from cold weather but I now have to find a male end that fits the female end. The female end is sewn on so I cant go to an outdoor shop and get a replacement buckle. I emailed s4 so I guess we will see what they can do. It sounds like others have had pretty good luck with custmer service.

It did take a while, maybe because of the holidays, but S-4 finally returned my email and asked what my address was. I thought I would be getting new buckls to replace the ones that had broken. Wrong, they sent me a brand new lockdown!!! Awesome customer service, I was totally unprepared for that move. Thanks S-4, you have my business for life.
