7-shot, sounds like a sweet setup. I'd like some info on your March's scope if you don't mind. I'm considering putting one on my new rifle. I will send you a PM.

Win Mod 70 classic stainless action.
Customized magazine box
Benchmark #4 chambered in 300 Win Mag
Original trigger @ 2lbs
Manners EH3 stock (midnight camo)
Limbsaver pad.
Gun with rings and bases (no optics) 7lbs 10oz.

I already posted my rifles & stats, but thought everyone might get a kick out of this. After my Dad passes in 2012, I have is rifle, the only rifle he ever had that I knew of. Sometime back pre WWII my Dad got a 03 Springfield. Over the years he sporterized it like everyone did back then. (new stock, blue job, alter bolt to clear scope, drill & Tap for scope, etc). I took it out and shot it last year, just to shoot it. When I picked it up I realized how heavy it was. The gun had no sling, unloaded and with a Leupold 3x10 on top, it weighted almost 12# unloaded!! I was shocked.

My dad carried it on the last elk hunt with me and he was 90....got a cow too. It makes me weak thinking about lugging around that "brick"! My Pop was not a big man either, but could still pack his share.

The first picture in here in Colorado in 2005, Dad was 88. My son there too. The last picture is from a backcountry deer hunting trip in California in 1954, Dad has the same rifle. I was 13 at the time.

That's pretty cool CC, I still have the two model 70s dad picked up later in life. My sister has the one he used til then it was a Winchester model 94 30.30. every time I pick one up I remember good times!

I re-built my Dad's old Winchester 670 (long action) in 243 when the barrel finally went out. Probably took out the throat with to many hotter loaded 75gr V maxes for varmints and coyotes. Anyway, I didn't want to sell it so it became a donor for my steep country rifle. I have shot some deer and my last elk with it. Re-barreled it to 270 win and it shoots cloverleafs with 130 or 140gr accubonds although not quite as fast as I'd like from a 24" barrel. 2964fps from 130's and 2940fps from 140's. Still I take accuracy over speed, it works.

Winchester 670 action
Pac-Nor #3 8 fluted 24" stainless barrel
Bell & Carlson Alaskan synthetic stock
Timney trigger
PT&G aluminum bottom metal
Talley rings and bases
Stoney point bipod attachment
Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with wind reticle and CDS

8lbs 5.7oz

Loaded with 6 rounds (yes it holds 5 in the mag for some reason) and sling it's 8lbs 15.6oz

Mine weighs in at 7 lbs 8oz.
Tikka t3 lite in 7mm08 with a Bushnell 3-9× model 3200 scope.
Just about right for my 63 year old body!
