Oddly enough there is deer hunting opportunity in California. Just pretty rough to research, they are a challenge to build a NR plan for with they way they deal with data.

Ca give you the option of cash return or a D deer tag if you don’t draw a tag. It’s a horrible unit to hunt unless you have private property to hunt and or you just want to fill a tag for the freezer.
the D hunts are full of hunters and very low deer numbers but like everywhere there can be some good bucks but it takes a lot of dedication and time off the roads.
Still an opportunity to hunt and I like it. Grab a OTC bear tag and fill that while out looking for deer!

As close as you are to the border it's worth having your name in the hat. Kind of like us here in northern Wyoming, might as well look for opportunity in Montna.
