From last year well he made another trip around the sun. The link to last years thread with some more pics is below. He was rutting super hard today along with several other bucks so hard he followed a doe to about 30 yds away with out a care in the world.

Pics from this year to follow it sure is fun to see bucks return to the winter range.

It was cool to see him again. He kept the same gnarly bases and added a kicker on each side.

I think he did regress a bit and he was not broken up until only over a week ago. I think I like this year better though as I am just a sucker for stickers and kickers.

Also I went back a couple of times trying to get a better pic of the buck below as he took off as soon as the truck door opened and it is not the best pic but he is a straight hog.. 28+" wide frame with a 2" kicker off of each side. Hopefully I can get a better pic before the rut is over.

Bucks around here anyway are still in full rut mode fighting daily and moving a long ways. Many times this it seems you only get to see one once. Some great bucks have been coming out of the wood work around here this winter and it is good to see more upper age class bucks returning this year than I have seen since 2007.

Anyway here is the not so good pic of that bigger buck.

What camera set up are you using for these pictures? I am looking at getting a DSLR for the first time. Been missing way to many good picture chances with a iphone and spotting scope.

The Dslr is a canon rebel a few years old and my lenses are not that good so animals have to be pretty close.

The rest are shot with a nikon cool pic and tines up adapter. I have heard good things about sony cameras and once I upgrade I can take the ring off the cool pic and switch it.

Anyone shooting with a iphone 6s and phone scope? I too am wondering about the quality.

Sometimes I get great shots through my spotter with the cool pic and sometime not so much. You can always tell what the animal is but the clarity sometimes is not the best. I have to upgrade my phone and my wife thinks I am crazy for looking for the best one to phone scope with lol!

Here are a couple of shots from last night same buck video and still shot with canon cool pics. Very windy conditions and as you can see the bucks I saw were rutting so hard it was impossible to get them to stop long enough to get a still pic..
