Reloading presses.

I been looking for a deal on a used reloading press. From RCBS I see JR, JR2, JR3, RS, partner, ect. Is there really much difference in any of these presses as far as function or are there any I should avoid? Most of them look pretty much the same to me. Thanks!

I don't know much about all of the different models to be honest. I have the good ole Rock Crusher RCBS proabbaly from the 80's I bought used. A local shop touts Lee Presses and they do have a good rep. He had really nice "kit" in his shop that was under $300, maybe under $200, and came with all kinds of odds and ends that you would need. I can't remeber the specifics, but I will be going by there tomorrow. I can get you specifics if you'd like. He talked highly of the kit and I would trust him, he's very up to date on reloading gear.

The main thing to look for is whether its a C style or O style. Usually the O presses are stronger and won't flex as some of the older C styles might. A RCBS Rock Chucker is hard to beat. Mine is 30 or more years old and still works like it was new!

Thanks for the info guys! I am definitely going to get an O style press. The Lee presses I have seen look cheaply made to me. I was looking at RCBS partly because there seem to be quite a few used ones for sale.

I use an old RCBS Rock Chucker that is probably 20 to 30 years old. It seems to be rock solid with no flex. Buddy gave it to me since he is out of rifle hand loading. I have heard good things about Hornady and Redding presses, but have no experience with either.

I don't have any experience with any other presses besides the Forster but I'd say they're worth the money if you're at all interested in them.
