Reloading Bullet Question - Sierra Gameking

I am loading some rounds for my son Brandon's 270 Winchester. Has anyone used the Sierra Gameking bullet in 150 grain? I am looking for a good bullet for Bear hunting for him. I have a 7 mm WSM with 180 gr. VLD berger, but he is left eye dominant and loves his LH Tika T3 and wants to use that gun. I loaded some up today and we will see how they shoot for him. If you have any info or a favorite bullet for tough game like a shoulder shot on a big bear we would appreciate any guidance.

I wouldn't hesitate to use that combo. I've used SGK in 25, 284, and 30 caliber for quite a few years with good results. If it shoots well, go hunting with it and don't think twice about it in my opinion.

I have used Sierra GKs in my 30-06 for years. I like the 150gr boat tail.

Thanks guys, I loaded about 20 today and will shoot them in the gun to see if they shoot well then Zero at 200 and we are set. Your reviews echo what was on Midways customer reviews. I'll report back if he gets to try one out on a bear this spring.

My go to bullet in the .270 Win. 150gr. is the Nosler Partition. I've used it on elk and have taken my best black bear with that bullet. For game such as this I tend to favor a bullet designed for good weight retention if it has to penetrate a shoulder or other bone. I tend to favor the Nosler line of bullets as I can rely on good performance.
