Hey guys, lust looking for some honest advice on hunting in the Bighorns for mulies. I've hunted H twice and G once, with decent success in the group and one big buck. We coyote out in tents on foot and always go a few miles back. Obviously those units have great potential (although crowded), but what about R? (or M?) It seems I can pull an R tag as a second choice option, but will I be disappointed at the quality of deer out there in comparison? Is there a legitimate chance at a 180's buck? 170's? How bad is the pressure? Thanks in advance for any info!

Gotcha, thanks. Would one of the other regions be a better option for a second choice tag? Or would I be better off just trying another state?
? Just a personal thought, but talking with the few people I know up in Montana I think it's on the rebound and you can get a general tag that covers large areas and you can hunt the rut. The tags are expensive, but you can hunt the rut. I don't have any real specifics just that in the last few years they have been getting a lot better bucks than the previous 5.
Good advice, thanks. I was considering a OTC tag in Idaho, but I'm open to Montana as well and they always have leftover tags. Never hunted either state, so it would be an adventure either way.

Hunted region R once. Did see a few good deer but saw a ton or orange and four wheelers. You will have to find a way to get away from the masses.
