You probably won't get much, if any, information coming on with a first post like that! I hunt M every year and have most years since 1994, but if you haven't done any research to even ask about a particular unit number, where to camp, etc., I don't even know where to begin other than telling you that you will probably find that you'll be doing more honeymooning than hunting the way the deer situation is out there on the public ground! Many people look at the maps and see all the BLM ground over in unit 164 that is open the first ten days of October and think they have it made as far as access. That's about it for that unit unless you can get access over on the private lands near the BigHorn River because there are very few deer in that big chunk of BLM. I suggest that you introduce yourself in the New Members Forum and let us see what you're all about. Most members will help if they can, but it takes some homework on your part before much information is given out since so many come on like your post, get some help, and are never heard from again. I just sent three maps out today to a member and they even had some waypoints on them, but he had obviously done a lot of homework and I felt that he deserved that kind of help to hunt up in Region R! Welcome to the site!

I like your style "topgun". So we have walk-in permission for upper Norwood, deep creek, and Kirby creek but know that Kirby creek is mostly out from being in 37. And "PLAN" on starting out around upper Norwood in 39/40. I see that 164 is all but a bad idea and didn't even plan on going there. I've tried call the game warden matt for that area a hand full of times and left messages with no luck on a response. We're gunna show up the Monday before season and do get a few days of scouting before season starts. We're not afraid to leave the truck for a day or two and pack in. We've got good horses but plan on leaving them here because they a pain but we have that option too.

Haha....no harm-no foul. Again, best of luck. Wish I could help. I'm a rookie and this will be my first trip out west. I think you two will have a great trip regardless.
