I have 12x50 Leica Binos and the lens have a few scratches. Has any one ever had a pair factory referbished?

I had a great outcome with Leica on a very old rangefinder. I sent an email to their service area explaining my issue, got a quick detailed answer.

I own a pair of 7x40 Lieca's that were factory refurbished. Comes with a "as new" warranty. Have had them for 20 years. Don't know what it would cost to send yours in to be referbed but I have put a lot of hours in behind these with no gripes.

Well I did try last year and spent a good bit of time between phone and researching what to do. I just never got the verbal satisfaction or confidence to send them in. I guess I waited to close to the season also. On another note, the leica range finder. Well I lost mine in Arizona on a hunt in 3a/3c. That hurt a bit. So I won't get satisfaction there. LOL

You never know how most of the mfgrs will treat damaged optics. Some say up front what they will do (Leupold). I dropped a pack from an elevated blind a few years back. In the bottom was my Nikon binos. The broke in half. Figured my fault, I guess I need to buy a new pair. A friend told me send them in, it will only cost you the postage. I sent them to Nikon and about a month later I got a brand new pair and a letter thanking me for buying Nikon.

Send them back, I am sure they will send an estimate and then you can decide.

I was treated good by nikon as well. Bought a pair of binos off ebay, never were right when I bought them. So I sent them to nikon twice and they were still broke and they sent me a brand new pair of there new prostaff line. I was very pleased even though it took about a month to get the new binos but I was in no hurry anyways

88Man, let us know how it goes. I have some Duovids I picked up used that I really like. That said, I am tempted to send them in for a good cleaning and service. Curious how it goes with yours.
