I dropped a pair of redfield binos last year so i sent them in to see if they could fix them. They couldnt fix them so they upgraded my 10x50 redfields to a pair of leupold 10x50 acadias free of charge! They might not be the very top of line optics but the customer service is excellent!

Perhaps they no longer manufacture the type of binos that you had and the next step up on Redfields was a little too large so they gave you the Leuopolds that are the equal or just above the Redfield's.

Without talking to the factory rep you will never know.

I had a Nikon rangefinder go coo-coo on me once after a few months and when I sent it in I never heard anything for months. When I finally called and was on the phone with them all day they said o yeah we got it and your not covered by a warranty. They said this ones on you! I said the next one wont be! Ill send my money to Oregon like I should have in the first place. I got a leupold rx 1000 and haven't looked back.

I had a Nikon rangefinder that quit working. The call to Nikon requesting repair got me nowhere. Luckily for me, I bought them at Cabelas and they quickly took them back and issued a refund, no questions asked. I buy all my electronics at Cabelas for that reason.

I did when I lived in WA, my brothers scope tanked. I dropped it off at the factory in PDX. Never heard a thing, turned out the email went in my spam folder and they were waiting on me to tell them if I was going to stop by and get the new scope or should they mail it. Now I live close to them, want me to swing by and ask some questions?

I have sent back Leupold stuff, and sent stuff in for work. Excellent service both times.

Have you had problems with packages in your area in the past?

Not many problems with post office in the past. The first time i talked to them they said i should get the binos in about a week. I gave it a week and a half and called to let them know they didnt make it. I was given a tracking number to do some research with and when i called ups they said a label was made but never got scanned at originating location. Called leupold up and told them that and i was told everything gets shipped usps without a tracking number. Thats when i was told they are on backorder.i told them when they were originally supose to ship out and he was suprised i hadnt got them yet and they werent on backorder at that time. Wait 3 days and if they dont show up call again. I waited 5 days and customer service said the problem was that ups doesnt ship to p.o. boxes. I told them that i was told earlier that everything ships usps and the p.o. box shouldnt be an issue, wait 3 days and call us back. I was asked to do that 2 more times and i did. On friday i called again and customer service took my phone number and said they would call me right back and still havnt heard from them. Maybe i was mis informed with the first eta of a week but i have got alot of different answers since then .

I called leupold and explained everything i knew and the customer service person sent my info to his manager. He tried tracking them down and couldnt find them so he over nighted me a pair of binoculars! Amazing quality!!! Cant wait to take them deer hunting on the 15th!

I'm sure every company has it's glitches from time to time. I lived close to Leopold factory and visited it a few times, they treated me like a king. Everything I have sent in they have repaired and returned in record time. Sorry you had a rough time, but sounds like it was all good in the end. Good luck hunting and with those new binos.. BB

My optics are Leupold. I know they work, and if there is a problem I know without a doubt they will make it right.

I'm glad you got your binos.
I sent in a pair of Leupold Olympic 10x50's that I've had for about 13 years. The eye cup busted on it. They sent me a brand new pair of BX-3 10x50's in about 2 weeks. I couldn't believe it when I opened the package. I just wanted the eye piece fixed.
I have always heard great things about their customers service, now I know how great it is.

Over the years I have sent several Leupold scope back and ALWAYS got great service. Many years ago my Dad fell and broke a lens in his older 6x Leupold scope (a pre gold ring model bought in the 60's). They called me and said it couldn't be fixed and what would my Dad like in place of it. Sent a new VXlll 3 1/2 x 10 at no charge, which was a brand new model at the time (which was not what I asked for). When I called customer service, they said a good customer like my Dad deserved an upgrade.

I also broke a pair of Nikon binos in half. Sent them back and expected nothing in return. Got a new set of 8 x35's back, no cost. I had heard that Nikon was pretty bad about warranties, but sent them anyway. Was I surprised.

Same here with Leupold. Scopes, rangefinders, binos......fixed free of charge.....but most times just replaced with a new one......and its always been the next higher up model. Sent in a Rx750 got a Rx1000 2016 model just a few months ago.

Once a company, any company, sends an item it's the responsibility of the shipper - Normally Leupold uses UPS, or at least they used to - Didn't you get an email with a tracking number ? If not then someone screwed up and if you did WHY haven't you followed up with the shipper ?
