I am interested in hunting with a recurve and would like to see some pictures of kills from this year or years past. Since this year is just getting going any pictures would be great to enjoy if you feel like bragging a little.

Sorry our recurve harvests were way before smart phones came out so pics are buried away in a photo album. We hunt with longbows now and love them. The weight difference in carry is amazing. Shot distances are much shorter but that just makes you a better hunter. The newer trad bows can shoot amazingly well. My longbow has 3 carbon laminates in it and that makes the draw very smooth and almost feels much lighter than it actually pulls. Fletching up your own arrows is also fun to do.View attachment 17453

Nobody has any pictures from animals killed with a recurve ?
Seems strange that nobody has pictures since recurves and traditional archery has been around for thousands of years. The overwheming majority of bowhunters today carry compound bows and so do I.
Although I will say that we never carried or even had a camera in camp when I was a kid and dad started taking me along back in the late 60's.

I shoot a recurve and have not taken anything with it yet other than a rabbit one day for dinner. I enjoy the heck out of shooting the thing and really enjoy hunting with it. I just haven't put enough time in it yet and had the right situation to harvest an animal.

I have taken a shiras moose and antelope with my recurve as well as many grouse, but my pics are old school paper. My spouse has taken a few elk and white tail along with grouse . They are just plain enjoyable to shoot.

Here are a couple from way back when we could bow hunt. Too busy since then during bow season. I had our bows built for us by a guy at Bighorn out of Colorado. They are beautiful, and lightweight. We were able to pick the wood and just what we wanted. Some day we'll be able to do that again.
