kidoggy,

Yes, that is a dead calf in the photo. The yotes hit me hard and killed 2 calves in one night. I have been on a warpath since. Mating time is my favorite time of year to wack and stack. Seems like once they learn to pull the calf out of the momma cow during birth, they get pretty good at it and the laboring momma is in to much stress and at a bad angle to protect it. When a coyote dies it helps us all, including all the fawns, turkeys, pheasants, rabbits and more.

Sorry to hear about your calf. Nice job on blasting the coyotes. Hate those damn things.

We just started calving now too. I haven't got one yet, but have been passing on some tough shots. They will stop being as scared of me while I'm checking heifers soon and stop to look back a little sooner. I won't pass those shots.

Good luck on the coyotes and on calving.
