I hunted antelope in 16 on a leftover tag and have never in my life seen anything like it. I think the rabbits ate the antelope as I didn't see many antelope. Just kidding. The rabbits obviously ate all the deer.

Anybody die yet from eating them?
Going out over Christmas and new years, and wondering if I should just go predator or if I should bring home some bunnies too!

Haven't heard of anyone dying. I think the sick ones die when it gets cold, but I'm not sure. I used to eat them all the time and we'd always wait until after it snowed, now I haven't eaten one in years. I bought a pressure cooker and I wonder if they'd be any good pressure cooked/canned like deer meat.

Good luck. Unless they all died, I think you could probably shoot a bunch really easily. How do you prepare them?

Wrapped in bacon on the grill, or put a rub on them and smoke them. In the crockpot with a can of cream of mushroom, with a cut up onion.

I've never had one smoked or grilled but it does sound like it'd be really good. I've used the crockpot/ cream of mushroom before and liked it that way. We used to coat them in flour and fry them in oil and eat them like fried chicken.

Hope you get a bunch- There were a ridiculous amount of them north of I90 at exit 77 on the state and BLM east of Buffalo.

Tons of bunnies this year! Wife and I shot two limits getting a Christmas tree two weeks ago. Just sniped them in the head with a .17HMR. They were all clean and in good condition. As for the eats? My wife parboils them until the meat flakes off the bones then makes a killer rabbit pie. We also make BBQ rabbit (like pulled pork), rabbit noodle soup, fried rabbit (think fried chicken). Lots of stuff one can do. Good luck and have fun.
