Question regarding older model Leica binoculars

Hi guys, I need some help. I have an opportunity to buy some Leica 10x42 binoculars that were manufactured in 1999 for a great deal ($400). They're in great shape. My question is as follows.... Are those binoculars still comparable to today's high-end models? Or has the technology caught up? Are any production made binoculars these days better than those 17-year-old Leicas? I don't need them (I have 12x50 vortex razors and 10x42 Leupolds), but I'd love to have a set of high end binoculars. Thanks so much for your help!

Roger

I'm willing to bet they will put new glass in them for you. Swarovski did for us at little to no cost for our older binos. It's worth contacting them and asking.

Mine are at least that old and I love them. That's a bargain IMO! If you don't buy, hook me up.

I just sent a 1977 leupold gold ring scope in, it came back with brand new glass. Doubt Leica would do anything different.
