Does anyone have any experience with this tripod?

I know that a lot of people like using the XC525C model, and this one looks to be very similar just a little bit more heavy duty and about 1 pound heaver. This one is actually a little more expensive.

Anyways, I was just offered a barely used one for under $200 and am thinking about buying it.

Thanks,

Gaston

Not sure that 1 lb heavier = heavier duty when comparing these two tripods. If you are planning to carry it in a pack primarily, that 1 extra pound is significant. If you are primarily truck hunting, then wt is obviously less important. I've been running the 525 carbon for the past 3 years and I am very happy with it. Only downside is it is a little short to use comfortably while standing for long periods of time. At 2 pounds, you have to give up something I guess

I also have and use the lighter tripod. I use the Outdoorsmans adapter and their pistol grip head to get it tall enough for standing use.
