You guys remember these? I've had them sitting in my closet since 1996 when I got my bull elk tag in NV. I was shocked when I saw what the price was. Back then this was one of the few factory loads using premium bullets.
The price was $19.69. At the time I was buying ammo for my 7mm Mag for $14.99 in plain Remington or Federal loads. I'm sure they will still work great if my son decides to use this rifle for his bull elk this year.

Nitrex was the highest velocity factory ammunition that I ever used. It was loaded with Speer's excellent Grand Slam bullet, and was very accurate (and deadly) in my guns. I still have a small stash in select calibers that I save for "special occasions". Sad to see it go.

I shot my bull elk once from about two hundred yards and it fell like a ton of bricks. It never moved. I still have some left but I doubt I'll ever draw another bull tag while I can still climb the mountains.

Whatever happened to Speer's "Deep Curl" bullets, I don't see them around anymore. I loaded some for a friend's 7 magnum and he loves them. They were similar to a Trophy Bonded bullet, but had a hollowpoint.
