Preference point or not?

Looking at unit 7,9,11 for my first DIY antelope hunt. I bought a point back in October. When I apply online it asked me with a preference point or not. One tag is 316 and the other is 286. Is this an additional preference point hence the higher price or do I have to pay a fee to use my preference point?

I haven't purchased my tag yet I was worried I did something wrong.

That's the fee for your preference point this year. Available in 2018 draw. Basically if you don't draw your first choice, that box will ensure you have +1 PP for next year.

Doesn't work that way. He draws 1st choice he'll have zero next year. Use the PP option box, you get refund. Draw, then try to buy in the PP only sale, you get kicked.

Great catch WB. I was trying to figure out how to word it without getting too deep into the first choice second choice stuff and missed the very important word! Post is edited.

I'm glad I saw this or I would be asking the same question. So just to be clear, I just check the $286 box and the box to apply preference point, nothing else?

If you just want a point you can just buy them after July 1.
