I have recently got into reloading bullets for my guns and have a question on powders. I load a 300 Weatherby mag and a 25-06. I currently use RL22 for my 300 with a 200 gr accubond bullet and i use retumbo with a 115gr berger bullet for my 25-06. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these calibers. I am looking for the most accurate loads for my guns and need some outsider help thanks.:)

Pull out a manual, start trying different things. Every gun is different. I had over 400 rounds through my 7 mag with probably 7 different types of powders and 3-4 different bullets.

The way I do it now is choose the belly you want to shoot, and pick two powders, ( I look for highest velocity with lowest pressure) and play with those using different charges, different primers and most importantly different bullet depths. Hope that helps. If you have a chrono, you need to choose a powder an weight and primer that is most consistent and try playing bullet depths until you get the accuracy you desire.

I use Reloader 25 with a 180 gr Nosler Partition in my .300 Wby. Shoots less than minute groups out to 500 yds. Great load, my gun really likes this load. I shoot a custom commercial Mauser action & Shilen match SS barrel. I also shoot a 25-06 M77 Ruger (old model tang safety). It likes 4831 SC and 117 Sierra Game King BT's.

Most accurate powder I have tried in both of my 25-06's and both of my dad's has been Imr 4831 with very good results and good velocity. I even get pretty consistent velocities through the chrono. with cci200 primers. I shoot noslers in one and sierras in the other, both 100 gr. bullets, same charge of powder. 54 grains. Never have had pressure probs. could probably go hotter but 3300 is fast enough.

I use IMR for my 338 ultra mag. I agree with Dr all guns shoot different. I also picked up a reloading mag and started with their suggestions and went from there to find out what worked best for my gun.

Retumbo is by far the most in My 300 Ultra Mag. RL25 second. Retumbo may work well in you 300 with 180-200 gr. bullets.
RL25 may work better than RL22 with heavier bullets also ? IMR4831 worked good with 115-120 gr. bullets in 25.06 for a friend of mine.
