Educated professionals looking at hard data and suggesting that appropriate measures be taken to maintain a stable population of animals that has clearly reestablished itself and is in no danger of extinction whatsoever? Not gonna happen next year... maybe after 6 more years of appeals and lawsuits!

Would love to see it. No good reason not to have a season.

I planning on bear hunting in ten days and the biologist tells me I'll probably see more grizzlies than black bears.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a Grizzly hunt to happen. The "Animal rights" groups will be trying to get some liberal judge to issue an injuction with their pool of Lawyers readying a lawsuit to sue the Montana G&F. Just my 2 cents worth.

Im sure the 'animal rights' groups will fight this all they can but I think we gained alot of ground on them getting wolves delisted and their lawsuits wont hold up as well now.

I think it is only a matter of time before there is a hunt. Just like the wolves. That being said, does anyone know how it would be implemented? I would hope it would be similar to wolves in a quota system and not a special draw or a lottery tag.

Well I'm in glacier now and even just driving through we saw a grizz. (Not huge, about 200 pounds) but still. Biologists say there is well over 1000 grizz around glacier and well over 600 around Yellowstone. We need a season. Just this week in the paper up here a lady was mauled while hiking. We need a season.
