On other forum sites, I would simply use my Photo Bucket account.

Is that used here much? I noticed on another forum that if you post using PB that it gives the viewers access to your album.... I don't like that and refuse to post pictures there anymore....

What do you folks recommend?

Right click the full size image in photo bucket and pick "save image URL". Then paste the URL into the from URL tab from the image icon at the top of the reply section.

Along the same lines as what Scott said, to the right of the image there are the links associated with the photo with "share links" above them. Click in the IMG box and it copies the URL link automatically and you can paste in your post.

That's how I have been doing it - but it give album access on some sites?

Lets try it out. Here's a pic of last years Blacktail buck.

I too think this is a problem with using Photo Bucket. The other day I was trying to make one of Trent's mule deer photos larger on my iPad and I ended up with a picture of his wife in a green bikini! I don't think we want that happening. Maybe there is a way to secure Photo Bucket albums to prevent that. If any of you know how to do that, please let me know (and Trent to). Otherwise, Photo Bucket is the way to go.

Mt-Mike, I tried twice today to post on this thread, a pic of a blacktail I took last season and nothing shows.... not even the text?

I've used PB for years on other forum sites, so I know what to do normally. I'm a bit stumped right now.

I don't have any non-family type pics on my PB account, but still don't need to have folks trolling through it.

BT53, I don't know why you would have trouble with the text posting unless maybe you weren't signed in. As for posting pics from PB, I use the technique described above by libidilatimmy. Once in a while I have trouble when I'm not working from my desktop computer. I commonly use my iPad, as I am right now. There is another variation that is similar to what the guys have described above that ALWAYS works for me. First, in PB make sure you are viewing the large image of the pic you want to post. Then click on the icon of a couple of links of chain located above you big picture. That will bring up the code for several types of linkage. I like to use the bottom one starting with "IMG". RT click on that line and select all. Then click and select COPY. Go back to Foum post and position your curser. Then RT click and PASTE. Should work for you. Good luck.

I use Photo bucket here for all my photos. No problems. Make sure you leave a space between the text and the photo url.

mt-mike,

Why it posted this time and not before, is beyond me...?

However, it allows access as discussed above that I have a problem with.

Until I can figure out how to get around that, I probably won't be sharing my pics...

blacktail, your account is good and set on private. You will be able to see it all bc you're logged into it when you click on your pic on the forum. For ease of use on a comp go into your settings and change it to only show the

Set albums to private. If using the photobucket app make sure to keep all subalbums of mobile uploads set to private.

You're welcome. Most times it asks you when you create an album, but default setting is public. Doesn't necessarily mean you can't find them with a google search if they've been posted to a forum, but it keeps folks from having wide-open access.
