I killed my first mulie in California when I was 16. My Grandpa, Dad, brother and I drew an X-zone in California in 1999. On Sunday of opening weekend we all tagged out. I shot my buck around 250 yards with my Remington Model 721 in a 270. My dad and I sanded the stock down and refinished it just before the hunt. Still have the rifle in the safe.

This is my first Muley, shot on October 21st of this year in MT. First Muley trip of my life also. Most likely not a "Trophy" in most eyes but i was proud as all get out to bag him. Much different hunting than the coastal Blacktail brush hunting I have done for 45 years. A big guy is now my goal next year!

Muley hunter that is a great pic..
I dont have a pic of mine but here is Kime's as it was her first ever big game animal from a few years ago. Hunted for 4 full days and on the am of the 5th got this guy on public land.
Kinda a cool story but after on her own deciding wild meat was what the family needed she passed the hunters ed class and field sessions. Starting with 0 points is hard to find a hunt near home and a friend offered up a local lo tag and since it was her first hunt another old timer offered some great private land access.. After scouting up a 180" + type typical, just feeding, the night before the season on private where we could hunt - from the truck she said she wanted to hunt public... After hunting 4 days on the start of the 5th day she was rewarded and got this guy 2 miles in on public. He ate well.

Although this deer was taken on the west side of the Pacific Crest Trail it was all Mule Deer. High Cascade in 1983 or 1984, I was 13 or 14. Apparently my dad thought I was over 21?
