Great thread, love seeing what everybody has killed for first bulls. This was my first bull ever and what really turned me down the path of elk hunting. Hooked for life!

2008 Idaho Unit 39 6 point bull...Growing up in Northern NV we didn't have much elk and my family never applied. My old boss took me to "play" with the elk in 2007 for my first elk experience and I was hooked. Ended up going to ID the next year as at that time it was taking 10+ points to draw a NV tag.

Wife's first bull taken in 2015 is below. Needless to say she was very excited to scout/pattern/ and to kill a bull of this caliber in Colorado a big high for sure. Her first big low was this year as she missed a bigger one after the same scout/pattern/ shot 30 min into first light 4 times. It was a 360"+ bull... First time the .257 bee has let us down.

The gun got bumped in the backpack in or camp as it was shooting before the season then was 7" low and 3" right at 100 yds when we checked it at the range. Saw him after all the season so we will be back at him next year.

You've got her spoiled rotten
loves to hunt and a looker ,I'd spoil her rotten too.
congrats on a great bull!

My first bull in 2007 after five years of trying for an elk in the same unit. Very rewarding experience and still the best hunt I've ever been on. Also still the only hunt I've ever harvested two animals on the same hunt, same season same unit. Got my second and biggest buck that year also. Succeeded in getting three more bulls downed in the next three years all at the same exact location this first bull was harvested. Have a lucky rock in that valley that I sit on and haven't been able to get back to for the last four years.. sure miss it and might go back this fall to hunt in the honey hole again.
