The thing that bothers me most is that I'm a hound hunter and it gets enough negative publicity. Doing illegal things with hounds only makes matters worse...

Seems to me like the lacy act will be in effect here.

I hope they nail their asses to the wall...

always good to hear when a poacher gets busted.

never could understand why anyone would want to poach. I wouldn't be able to get any satisfaction from the kill ,knowing I had to break the law to do it. anyone, can kill any animal, if you don't follow the rules.

I guess that's the difference between a sportsman and a killer.
whatever punishment they get, will be less then they deserve.

Someone who knows law should look into the validity of a class action suit to destroy them and their entire families for life. These habits and attitudes are passed on. We don't want the lizards tail, so it can go on living. We want the lizards head. The Attorney General for all states should be exploring ways to expand prosecution.

I've been pondering these poaching cases more and more lately....

The first thing that come to mind after reading the above is that most of the scumbags I know have scumbag families too.

Having said that,

A person really needs to be able to see the good in people. And know that there world is filled with good people. I think the majority of people on this website are stand up guys who are genuine.

After these knuckleheads are done paying their fines and serving the "possible jail time" that their immediate families have suffered enough....

Back to the crooks themselves:

I would like to cut the trigger finger off poachers hand...i've been a big advocate of that idea for years...

Too much? lol oh well.

Poachers pi$$ me off in a bad way and poachers take away opportunities that every law abiding hunter dreams of having.

I often wondered how many more opportunities I would have had over the years if people didn't poach... I know growing up in PA (THE LAND OF THE POACHERS...AND I GUARANTEE YOU ALL YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE LIVED IT...) that poachers took away a lot of opportunity....I know for a fact it did.

The only thing we can do as sportsmen is to report people for their crimes. I have ratted out a ton of people who have poached or baited over the year. I'm not ashamed to say it either. I will teach my kids to do the same thing. Because it is the right thing to do.

What upsets me is how many people turn a blind eye to it and 99% of the time its because they don't want someone ratting on them for their crimes...

Would I turn someone in for shooting a doe to feed their family? The same person who shot that doe wasn't willing to go and buy a 20$ license to do it legally but is willing to spend 7.25$ on a pack of cigarettes per day and buys two cases of beer a week. But he couldn't afford the license. But that same idiot is ok with going out and zapping a doe under the spotlight and if there was a doe and a 150" buck standing side by side what would he shoot?....

There is no fine line for me. I live in a black and white world.

The only shade of grey is on my wife's bookshelf...I wont go into details about that but it was the best 10$ gift I ever got her....lol
