Ivory, I'm surprise Matt hadn't chimed in on the snobby fly fisherman. The guy won't even use a "Bee" pattern! Thanks for the heads up on the Temple Fork spin rods!

I think my biggest reason for not liking Patagonia is due to one day of fishing the south fork river with a spin rod and CD 9 Rapala. not just any spin rod but a Temple Fork spin rod:) (check them out)!!!! I had landed 3 big browns and several Cut throats between 3 and 8 pounds. View attachment 18472 a boat rolled in and the guy yells at me that its his hole now, hahaha. the mentality of some of those river guides!! had they just rolled in and asked if they could fish the hole I would've been happy to move on. they were all sporting Patagonia hats:) left a sour taste. dumb reason but is what it is.
Ivory I didn't realize we had met before. Sorry bout that. Had I known it was you I wouldn't have acted so arrogant. Haha

I agree fly fisherman are snobs. But I'm not your average fly fisherman, remember I fish with a bee pattern and articulated streamers. I'm really just one step above a worm fisherman.

As for Patagonia, I can honestly say I have never owned a piece of their clothing. Some of it does look cool on chic's from CO.

My only thing is I know Yvonne Chinourd(sp.) is close friends with Craig Matthews (owner of Blue Ribbon Flies). Craig is an elk hunter and conservationist big time. Although I may not always agree with his views at least we have something in common. He loves trout and elk meat.

"Flyfisherman are snobs" 😂

(Sry, I do sincerely agree)

I flyfish. Have done it for the last 33 years of my 44 on this earth I definitely went thru a snob stage. I think middle age cured me mostly of the snobbery; but yes, many are quite simply snobs. There is no other way to put it. Or nicer way to put it. 😆
