Looking ahead to 2016 for a deer/elk combo in Wyoming. I've done a fair bit of research already - but thought might as well cover all basis... I'm saving up to fork out the cash for an outfitter that will go back in away from the crowd. I prefer DIY, but really want to go 3+ hours back in on horse to wall tents. Deer points not an issue / looking for region G.

Has anyone hunted with Trophy Mountain Outfitters and willing to give an review? I'm leaning that way. Alternatively, any suggestions for an outfitter in Wyoming that goes back in horseback?

K Bar Z. They are out of Cody. I've never hunted with them, but my dad and uncle have several times. Killed some pretty darn good bulls and have seen some good bucks. The last time they hunted with them it was a bust. Saw more wolves than elk. That doesn't mean it isn't good, but I'd sure do some research on it. As far as the outfitter goes, they had no complaints. Good camp, tents, food, horses, pack stock.

PointsHunter; TMO is a class outfit. I have been on two elk and two deer hunts with them. Dustin and Clint Child have become good friends, and I will book with them again when the finances allow it. I have hunted out of four of his five camps. The last camp is a drive up camp that is not in the wilderness like the other four. All are in area H. If you check their web-site you will see some great critters are harvested every year. Send me a PM if you want more specific info.
