I'm thinking about going to Idaho for a bow hunt in September if my elk hunting in Wyoming works out. I was looking at either the Pallisades, Bannock, or Bear River areas. I was wondering if there are any grizzlies and wolves? Also looking for an area that would be conductive for backpacking in. Any and all help is appreciated.

There's not really much of a chance you'll run into grizzlies in those elk zones. Maybe some wander into the Palisades from time to time.

Wolves can be found - hit or miss.

I'm with Hombre. There have been a few grizzly spottings over on the Greys river which is close to Palisades, but I think it is a slim to none chance you will ever see one.

I've hunted pallasades for years and only heard of one griz sighting. I've Never seen either

Ivory, really? I'll take your word for it, but I've never run into griz tracks in the Pine Creek drainages. Haven't spent too much time up Rainy Crk.

The most I've heard of griz in that area is right in the foothills south of Victor.
