I was just reading the Oregon MRS in the EHJ that just came out and it seems the researchers missed the new release about the canceled bighorn sheep tags in the Owyhee unit. Just a heads up to anyone planning on applying there, you might want to spend your time researching other areas. If you want to read the news release it is on the ODFW website, I think it came out mid-January.

correction...they did mention in the small paragraph about some areas closing due to pneumonia, but didn't mention what units. It looks like it is just the 3 owyhee units so far.

Oregon MRS? I just got my March/April EBJ in the mail today. I hope that magazine is going to get here a little earlier next month since I'd like to read about Nevada before the deadline.

please let somebody know that interstate unit is in eastern Oregon and there are no blacktails there!! I caught that one right off the bat,there are other typos too so ya know

Spent 9 days hunting, mostly in the interstate unit, quite a number of years back, saw mulies and decent numbers of antelope. If that is blacktail country, I'd be surprised, but they are elusive as all heck and I did not cover 100% of the unit. Either I missed seeing any, it is a misprint, or its a recent colonization likely by lost benchlegs. Of course it could be a new biologist that thinks any black on the tail makes it one...
