Oregon Elk

This is my first year really getting out to target elk with my bow and I was hoping to get some input on whether the rut has started yet or is over? I focused on Deer the first couple weeks and now that I'm out chasing elk, it seems like the woods are kinda quiet? I've heard reports of elk bugling out in NE and also just east of Bend, but I haven't heard anything around Central Oregon.

Any one willing to give some input on what stage of the rut the elk might be in around Central Oregon right now?

Thanks!

Where I usually hunt in the Central Cascades usually starts picking up right about now. I'm not hunting Oregon this year but if I were, this would be the week I would be getting excited about.

Thanks for the responses guys. I see a little weather/cooling in the forecast this week so I am going to try and get out again during the week.

Oregon Coast
Just checked with folks up north, definitely not at the peak yet at the Columbia on the Coast.
I'm at the other end of the state on the coast so take that for what it's worth.

Definitely sounds like the West Side of the mountains is still active then. I'm located more in the Central Oregon side of the Cascades and that's where I've been hunting. I'm hoping this little bit of cooler weather on Thurs will help out some. Thanks for all the replies!
