Dang. 26 years without any problems with people until this. All those busted up teeth must have really been hurting it.

Sad to see such a cool animal go, but theres no escaping the end.

Too bad that he turned to preying on livestock instead of just going off into the wilderness to die on his own. Looking at his teeth he may of not made it through this upcoming winter. But then you just never know.

I'm sure that he sired a whole lot of little ones to take his place.

That is my snowmobiling playground and a cool place. Makes me wonder how close I have been to that old bear. He must have minded his business. Like 6mm said, he won't have to go through the starving.

Wasn't that sow that attacked that bow hunter down in Colorado something like 22ish? I seem to remember that the condition of her teeth was believed to be a factor in her attacking a human.

I can smell that bears bad breath and gingivitis just by looking at the picture.

He saw livestock as easier prey, as he wanted to eat to live. I admire the old fella. He may have made it another year, but it'd been a rough one.
