I finally get to go back out to central/east wyoming for a pronghorn hunt this october. We used to go every fall then sports, college, and jobs happened. Finally going out again with my brother and dad after about a 12 year hiatus.

I need some advice on pants. I typically prefer filson, but I have a feeling my Mackinaws are too warm for that early October weather. I would still like to stick to some sort of filson product, but not sure cloth to go with, any reccomendations? Anything outside of filson that would be better?

Thanks for the advice!

I like military pants because the have reinforced knees. You can gat a lot of different camo patterns too. I take knee pads and good leather gloves.....those damn little cactus hurt like hell. Hard not to run into them when you are crawling trying to put a sneak on one.

That's a good idea. What pattern do you like to blend with the sage brush? Where do you find them?

You may be surprised at the weather in early October. Bring a pair of cold weather pants too. Sitka optifade open country works great in sage. Mountain mimicry pattern as well as any sage pattern, realtree max-1 XT, kings camo etc. They also work great for mountain hunting mule deer.
