Has anyone checked out this program?

"substantial discount" - I'll say!

I will be taking adoption offers from EF members.

:p

General Elk - $80
General Deer - $64
Upland Game Bird - $30

Seems like a better deal than I pay now. I guess it would all depend on how much it would cost to become your adoptive sibling, child or parent. That's pretty funny Biterroot Bulls. What's even more funny is that I'll bet somebody really does try that to get a better Montana tag price each year.

Jon Boy?

What is such a pain, most western states require a 1 year wait.
Its a 6 month wait....more or less its just irritating for me. I tried to buy my license online as a resident, said no can do and to call 1800xxx. Did that. Guy said all I needed to do was go to the fwp office here and show them my mt drivers license and show I was a registered voter. He said that the student hunting license I got from them in sept. would show ive been here longer than 6 months and it would be no problem.
Went to the fwp office with all of that and they said no can do. Need more proof that ive been here 6 months such has pay stubs or bills etc. I havent been employed the entire time ive been here so thats a no go and all of the bills are in my brothers names (I live with him) so ive requested my transcripts and am waiting for them. On top of that I have to license my truck in MT. That would be fine I would register it tomorrow and completely understand why that is, but my parents are paying my insurance while im in school and there insurance wont cover my truck if its registered in a different state under there plan (dont ask me why)
So yes its been pain for me, it would be fine for most ordinary people and understand why it is the way it is and I have to live with it. I have no intention of ever moving away from MT, I simply love it here. But thats the way it is.

Those prices sound like what resident fees really should be ;) haha.

I wonder how many make use of this system. I kinda feel like you're either a resident or non-resident. I'm pretty sure college students who live in MT but go to school out of state could still buy a resident tag, so who's seeing this benefit? Just reinforces fairer tag fees for non-residents and residents alike IMO vs. creating a new category of tag altogether.

But if you qualify might as well make use of the system.
