If I apply and draw out for NM, as a nonresident, is there a way to turn a tag back in before the season starts? I want to apply this year but am unsure if I'll be able to go. I'm assuming I would be out the license cost but what about the tag cost?

You definitely wouldnt loose your points in NM. lol. I dont know but most states you have to have an emergency, medical reason, death in immediate family, ect to get any kind of refund.

Thanks everyone. I was pouring over the regs, but I guess I kept skipping that paragraph ND. By the way MM, I have been building points in NM for years... I have been at max points since I started I'm pretty sure!:)

Haha looks there's a lot of us with max NM points! Just like the Colorado 18 point elk hell.
Completely different then max points in states like CO and WY Zim. You can maintain max points in NM without ever even applying, not apply for years and not loose your points, and you can draw and still have max points for the next year. LOL

Idaho been pretty good to me. In 4 years of applying I have drawn 2 deer tags. No elk or antelope yet but didnt draw last year so maybe this will be my year!
