I had the great pleasure of taking my 12 year old niece out on her first antelope hunt last fall. We were able to get in on antelope right away the first day, but she could connect on her first shot that evening (Not a big deal, but I think she was upset). Right away the next morning not long after light we had her up on shooting sticks trying to get a shot, but just to many does feeding around the buck and it was a no shot. We proceeded to hike just over 2 miles north and east looking into a flat where there was a big group, but the sun was in are face and again none of them where really standing still so I told her to hold off. It just wasn't a good situation and didn't want her to miss again or wound one. We head back to the south and just as we broke the hill there was a nice buck all by himself headed right for us. We got are selves set up behind a old wind break, and the buck strolled right in to 75 yards, and she dumped him in his tracks! The fence right behind my niece in the picture was the border to private that we couldn't hunt, that buck was feet away from being unhuntable. Besides hunting with my son this was the greatest hunt I have ever been on in my life.
