Hello All,

I am new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I live in northern Idaho and have been hunting up here for about 10 years. I am from Ohio and hunting here is quite a bit different than where I grew up. However, I love the mountains and the animals that call them home. I recently decided to branch out and start applying and building points for other states. I got lucky and drew a New Mexico tag this year. Over the next 10 years or so I hope to hunt elk and mulies across the west. I really would like to see some new country and have a diversity of hunting experiences. I am not a trophy (that term even bugs me) hunter but just want to put some meat on the table and have some quality hunts. If anyone wants any information hunting northern Idaho do not hesitate to ask...glad to share what I know.

NIDAHO, congrats on drawing the New Mexico tag. I have followed this forum and several others for years but typically don't join or post as I don't feel I have much to add but more to gain by reading other people's information. I do need some help NOW though and your post fits the bill. Two nights ago I opened the mail and found a Idaho Unit 9 moose tag in the envelope. Do you have any knowledge of unit 9 or about moose in general in northern Idaho? All help appreciated!!!!! I am a Midwest whitetail hunter but have made a few trips out west hunting antelope, elk and mulies so I am sure there are WAY more knowledgeable people on this site for you to gather information from. Thanks.
